Blessed Teresa of St Augustine and her companions

Today marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of a group of French nuns during the French Revolution. I had never heard about them until I stumbled on this post from the blog of the Third Order of Carmelites in the Philippines while searching for a name for the baby in my tummy.
It always surprises me that I have never heard about many of the brave men and women who gave their lives for our faith, but I suppose that just goes to show how important it is to try and make them better known.

Did you come up with a name for the baby? Congratulations on your pregnancy, Mama-to-be!

Thank you, Elizabeth. I'm afraid this is still Baby No-name. My hubbie wants an Irish name, but we can't seem to agree on one. Looks like this little baby will have to wait til he comes out before we decide.

Oh, my! Shades of Shane's naming. He came home from the hospital as Baby Boy Leaver. When it came time to baptize him three months later, he was still Baby Boy. We finally had to pick a name because we did NOT want to baptize him Baby Boy. In fact, the little boy next door, whose name was Shane, named him by asking why Shane was not a good enough name. We agreed it was a good name, and that was the end of that! Good luck with the naming!
